Alternatives to jam.coop

jam.coop isn't the only place you can upload your music and sell directly to your supporters. We're building something open-source, UK based, democratic, friendly and hopeful - and without external funding. We hope you enjoy your time here, but we don't want to lock you in!

Here are some alternatives you may want to consider

Co-operative alternatives

  • Mirlo is an open-source, co-operatively owned online music platform based in the US. We're actively working with them to find ways to support each other (in the spirit of co-operation).
  • Subvert is a relative newcomer to the co-operative music platform space. They're a closed source, US-based platform co-operative with a growing base of musicians and funders.

Other alternatives

  • Ampwall is a US public benefit company created by lifelong DIY musicians.
  • Bandcamp is the largest direct-to-supporter platform for musicians. Based in the US with a huge roster of musicians they offer a large community and many great features. They are, however, privately owned and for-profit. Bandcamp has changed ownership in the past and actively resisted the formation of the Bandcamp United workers' union. This and our worry for the eventual platform decay of Bandcamp led us, in 2023, to start work on jam.coop.
  • Bandwagon is a social music sharing service for the Fediverse.
  • Faircamp is an open source tool that allows you to create your own website for your music and sell directly to your supporters.
