Two pieces created in one day to celebrate human kindness and released spontaneously.
Track 1: It started when I was trying to generate arpeggios with a "harp" sounds through ableton's tension (string physical modeling synths). I played around modulating damping and reached this percussive pipe sound, and the arpeggios with some note echoes created this gamelan-ish rhythm. The rest is granular processing and delays. A wavetable pad comes in an out. A field recording captured somewhere in Italy adds texture. There is a fourth voice which is my favorite, the notes from the pad can occasionally trigger this mallet sequences which can randomly oscillate between a more marimba sound or a bell sound (another physical modeling synth, Collision). The track is long because I was really curious to hear more of these mallet sequences, always new but somehow familiar. The last voice I made playing chords through my acoustic guitar, with a pickup inline through my interface and then heavily processed towards a pad sound.
Track 2: This is track is based on 4 wavetable voices, with generative arpeggios and note echoes.g. After recording it live I mangled the master track and decided to play it at half speed.
