Crows Labyrinth presents a new series of ambient releases, called Neon Scenes.

Where most of past releases used the bass guitar as the main sound source, the Neon Scenes series will see a more prominent use of synthesizer sounds and generative compositions.

This piece is the first installment in the series: Granular Dreams. It's a longform generative drone ambient piece. A lot of time was spent on getting the atmosphere right, and on programming the generative element of the composition.

The main drone sound is built from a sample of ambient bass guitar, then turned into a patch using Arturia's Pigments synthesizer. The lead sounds are also generated by Pigments.

The end result is a nearly 40-minute generative drone ambient meditation, inspired by Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, with a bit of Blade Runner dust sprinkled on top of it.

A shorter single version of the track is also provided with this release.

About Crows Labyrinth:
Crows Labyrinth is an ambient project, conceived by Theo Tol from the Netherlands. The aim of the project is to create ambient cinematic soundscapes. Originally by using solely bass guitars and effects processing. Lately also by using other sound sources like synths, piano, field recordings and generative systems. The soundscapes preferably have to be created in one take, one improvisation, one flow of sound.

Crows Labyrinth is inspired by many artists. These names are a small selection: Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Tangerine Dream, Steven Wilson (with his Bass Communion and I.E.M. projects), Tom Heasley, Loscil, Clem Leek.

This track may also be interesting for fans of Atrium Carceri, Raison d'Être, Lustmord and Biosphere.
